A couple living in Middle Tennessee said they don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, and there's a big reason for that.
Jean and Ed Alderman were high school sweethearts, and he signed up at age 17 to go into the Navy in World War II.
When he came back, it was on to the Naval Academy where he became an officer.
Jean was busy studying at Peabody getting her own degree.
They got married after he graduated, and they gave some amazing wedding advice to NewsChannel 5 and our viewers, like never letting disagreements go too far and always making sure to kiss and make up.
They said they do not really celebrate Valentine’s Day because every day should be like Valentine’s Day.
The couple said they attribute patience, compassion, and a keen interest in each other's favorite things to their happy marriage.
The couple has been set to celebrate 66 years of marriage this June.
