Officials confirmed a 28-year-old man was shot and taken by helicopter to an area hospital. He was last listed in stable condition.
Reports stated officers spoke with witnesses, leading them to piece together what happened on Carter Road. Police said the victim and gunman knew each other and got into an argument.
At some point, the argument turned physical, and the 28-year-old was shot.
Authorities said a warrant for aggravated assault has been issued for 20-year-old Quantavious Golliday, of Clarksville.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts has been urged to call Detective Tranberg at 931-648-0656 or the Tipsline at 931-645-8277.
Shortly after the shooting, when authorities received a description of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle, they spotted someone in a vehicle that matched the description not far from the scene.
The driver of that vehicle began to evade police, and a pursuit ensued. The driver also went through a yard at one point in an attempt to get away.
Reports stated the vehicle was spike stripped. The driver initially fled on foot, but was captured after a short pursuit and taken into custody.
It was initially believed he could be involved in the shooting; however, officials quickly discovered he was not the suspect.
He was found to be driving on a revoked license and was charged with reckless driving, evading, misuse of registration, and no insurance.
