One suspect was arrested and another remained at large after a brief pursuit in Montgomery County.
Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Darren Walton was seen driving along Chapel Hill Road with a male passenger, identified as 32-year-old Steven Williams.
According to investigators, Walton is wanted for theft of property.
Deputies tried to stop the car, but Walton allegedly accelerated and turned into an open field near Liverworth Road before eventually stopping.
During a traffic stop, Williams was taken into custody and charged with evading. He was booked on a $30,000 bond.
K9 officers tried to find Walton but he allegedly escaped. It’s unclear how he got away. Officials said he’s wanted for theft and evading arrest.
