The search for a gunman got underway Tuesday evening after a man was shot along Interstate 24 in Antioch.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. near the Hickory Hollow Parkway exit.

The victim told officials with Metro Nashville Police that he was being followed by another driver on eastbound I-24.

Investigators said the gunman flashed his lights at the victim and then pulled off on the shoulder. He allegedly got out of his car with a gun in his hand.

The victim said the gunman shot him once in the left arm after a brief struggle. The victim then drove himself to a Wendy's on Crossing's Place to call for help.

Police said the victim is expected to recover; however, an arrest has not been made in the case.

It’s unclear if the incident was motivated by road rage.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
