Police were called to a residential area of Murfreesboro overnight after one person was shot.
Neighbors along Russell Court, located just off South Rutherford Boulevard, reported hearing gunshots around 2:15 a.m. Friday.
Details of the shooting were unclear at this time. However, neighbors reported hearing between five to eight shots.
The victim was struck and reportedly airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. His name was not released.
It’s unknown if anyone has been detained in the case.
