Police responded to an officer-involved shooting in Sumner County after a multi-county police chase.
The police chase began in Wilson County when a deputy tried to stop a vehicle, which then sped away. It then continued through Trousdale County and Sumner County where it ended in Bethpage Whitson Road.
According to officials, the driver got out of his car with a firearm. That's when a deputy fired a shot at him.
The alleged gunman - identified as John Kimball - was treated at an area hospital, while no deputies were hurt. It was unknown what caused the chase to begin in the first place.
A witness told NewsChannel 5 he saw a vehicle speed down Mt. Vernon Road in Bethpage with four officers in pursuit. The witness said he then heard about eight or ten shots fired.
