One suspect has been apprehended and another remains at large in connection with an armed robbery at a Clarksville market.

The incident happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday at the Excell Market on Ashland City Road.

Montgomery County sheriff’s officials said two men entered and demanded the employees load a trash bag with money from the register and safe.

Surveillance video from inside the store showed one of the men holding a gun to the back of a customer’s head.

Police said four customers inside were forced into a bathroom at gunpoint. They said a fifth customer who walked in on the robbery had a gun placed at his head and also forced into the bathroom. A sixth person, who was in the parking lot, was reportedly forced into the building as the suspects fled the scene.

The suspects got away with $7,437 in cash, $4,255 in checks and credit card receipts, eight cartons of cigarettes, and eight boxes of cigars from the store.

They also reportedly stole cell phones and $660 from customers in the store.

His bond was set at $1,250,000.
