One person was killed and several others were injured after a crash in Antioch involving six vehicles. There were also children in at least one of the vehicles.
The crash happened Monday evening at the intersection of Blue Hole Road and Bell Road.
Details about exactly what happened to cause the crash were not available. Emergency crews said it was too early in their investigation to determine the cause.
Witnesses said bystanders worked to free two to three children out of a burning car. There were also reports that one man was ejected in the crash.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed six people were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Four of those were children who were all in one van.
The identity of the fatal victim was not available.
The intersection was forced closed while crews tended to the injuries and processed the scene.
Police said the intersection was likely to remain closed for several hours. Drivers have been urged to seek alternate routes.
