One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting near Hadley Park in Nashville.

Officers responded to the scene of a shooting Wednesday afternoon about three blocks from Pearl-Cohn High School at 25th Avenue North and Booker Street.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 27-year-old Antonio Tibbs was killed, and 36-year-old Harold Dion Gregory suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police Tibbs was acting strangely when he came out of a residence on Booker Street waving a gun in the air.

When Gregory, who has known Tibbs for years, heard what was going on, he went to Tibbs' home.

Police said it appeared that Tibbs’ gunfire wounded Gregory in the leg, but it was not clear how Tibbs was shot. Investigators said they have not ruled out the possibility that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Both were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Gregory was treated for his leg injury, and Tibbs was pronounced dead.

Officials said a pistol was found underneath Tibbs' body at the scene.
