1 Killed In Crash Involving Motorcycle, Semi

An investigation has been underway following a deadly motorcycle crash.

According to officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department, a semi and motorcycle collided around 5:50 a.m. Saturday at Firestone Parkway and Gould Boulevard.

Authorities identified the victim who was killed as 50-year-old Eddie Bell, Sr.

The driver of the semi, identified as 55-year-old James Kerr, Jr. of North Carolina, told officials he was trying to turn left from Gould Boulevard onto Firestone Parkway when Bell, who was traveling on a 2002 Harley Davidson, hit Kerr's semi on the driver's side.

Bell passed away at the scene.

Authorities said the was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement in the crash.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
