One person was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Montgomery County while fleeing from a traffic stop.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol officials, the two vehicles involved were a passenger vehicle and the motorcycle. The wreck happened around 6:09 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Salem Road and Ferry Road.

Authorities said the motorcycle, driven by 37-year-old Michael Dollahite, was traveling at a high rate of speed while fleeing from a traffic stop that had been initiated by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Officials confirmed the deputy involved in the traffic stop was not pursuing the motorcycle.

Dollahite then tried to make a curve, crossed the center line, and hit the passenger vehicle head-on. The car was driven by 51-year-old Linda Waller.

Reports stated Dollahite hit the windshield of the vehicle before going over the top of the car. He was killed in the crash.

Waller was injured. The extent of her injuries was unknown.
