A woman was shot and injured in a robbery attempt at a south Nashville motel.
Officers said the shooting happened at the Super 8 Motel on Bell Road around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Investigators said the victim was a woman who said she was staying in a room when a man she had previously met knocked on the door.
The victim said the man brandished a handgun and demanded money.
Police said the woman tried to run and was shot in the hand.
She was being treated for her injuries at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Officers said the suspect fled the scene in a black SUV.
