1 Shot, Injured Near Whites Creek Gas Station

Police responded to the scene of a shooting during a reported carjacking in Whites Creek.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Friday in the 7500 block of Old Hickory Boulevard at a Marathon gas station.

Officials said a black Ford Fusion pulled up next to a white sedan. The passenger of the Fusion got out and approached the driver of the sedan, demanding he get out of the car. The driver refused.

That's when the uncle of the carjacking victim, who was in a minivan behind the Fusion, tried to intervene and was reportedly shot by the passenger of the Fusion.

The victim was taken to Skyline Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury to his arm.

Police said they have been searching for the two suspects in the Ford Fusion. They were last seen heading onto Old Hickory Boulevard toward Dickerson Pike.

The investigation remained ongoing.
