NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro police are looking for the driver involved in a hit and run accident Sunday around 3:50 p.m. which left a 12-year-old boy in critical condition. Javarrion "Jay" Fizer was riding his bicycle in the 3000 block of Richmond Hills Drive in Madison.

Police are looking for Devonta Hall, 24, for questioning in the hit and run. A citizen’s tip led investigators with the police department’s Traffic Unit to an body shop in East Nashville where Hall, about one hour after the crash, dropped off a silver Chevrolet Impala with a broken windshield and front passenger side damage.

Ericka Fizer, Javarrion's mother is asking the driver to come forward.

"I don’t think you did it on purpose but if you had a heart you’ll turn yourself in, I know you didn’t hit him on purpose," said Fizer. "I do know that you were doing something that you shouldn’t be doing whatever it may be; whether you were on drugs or texting and driving, you were doing something you shouldn’t have been doing."

Fizer says Javarrion known as "Jay" is a happy active kid, so to her soon in a hospital bed, she says is heartbreaking.

"Devastate, devastated because he’s on the ground unconscious, I mean he hit him pretty good it’s not like he didn’t know or didn’t see or didn’t feel the impact," Fizer says.

Fizer says her son has severe brain injury, a broken pelvic bone, staples to the back of his head and a bruise on hip where she believes he was hit by the car. He is currently in a medical induced comas to help with the swelling on his brain.

Anyone with knowledge of Hall’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or submit a tip online at www.p3tips.com/161. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous.

Hall is also wanted for an outstanding failure to appear warrant in relation to a domestic violence arrest last year. He has previous convictions for unlawful handgun possession, theft, and drug possession.

The family is asking for help to pay for Jay's medical expenses, they have setup a GoFundMe page.
