NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office says 135 additional inmates have tested positive for COVID-19.

The sheriff’s office confirmed the new cases Saturday, saying 502 inmates at the Correctional Development Center on Harding Place were tested. The 135 who tested positive were asymptomatic.

Of 164 staff tested, four are positive with further results pending.

“The DCSO continues to coordinate with MPHD regarding COVID-19 testing, medical housing of inmates, and staff safety guidelines,” according to a release.

The sheriff’s office said the additional testing was prompted after 48 inmates tested positive for the virus on Tuesday.
