NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two minors were arrested for the second time this month for vehicle theft.
The teens, aged 15 and 13, were located Monday evening in a Honda CRV that was stolen last Friday from Vantage Way. North Precinct officers followed the vehicle and attempted to stop it near on I-65 near Madison.
While a brief chase took place, it was called off due to excessive speeds and heavy traffic.
Madison Precinct later caught up with the Honda and attempted to stop it. The CRV attempted to flee once more but crashed into another vehicle while attempting to complete a U-turn.
Officers then arrested the 15-year-old and his 13-year-old passenger.
The previous arrests of the two teens took place only two weeks ago when the 15-year-old reversed and rammed a stolen Lexus into a MNPD patrol car before exiting the vehicle and running from the police. He was later apprehended in an alley near Meharry Boulevard and was charged with vehicle theft, assaulting an officer, evading arrest, and driving without a license.
The 13-year-old was also arrested two weeks ago after traveling down Highway 41in a stolen Mazda CX9 SUV at 115mph. He was charged with auto theft o December 5.
