16-Year-Old Killed In South Nashville Shooting Identified

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The 16-year-old killed in a shooting in south Nashville Tuesday night has been identified.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Dejuan Lytle was shot once at the Tony Sudekum Apartments on University Court just before 10 p.m.   

According to police, Lytle was sitting on his front porch when two men, described as African American males, approached him.

At some point, an argument broke out and at least one shot was fired. 

Lytle was hit in the torso and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. 

No additional information on the suspects was known.
