NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man has died after being shot multiple times outside a home in northeast Nashville.
Officials with Metro police said 18-year-old Dalen Risby was shot multiple times outside a residence on Oakwood Avenue. The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
He was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he later died as a result of his injuries. His identity was not known.
The victim was found lying in the front yard of the home. It was unknown if he lived there or if he just happened to be walking by at the time.
Several people were sleeping inside the home and were awoken by the sound of gunshots.
Detectives were working to piece together exactly what may have led up to the shooting. The motive remains unknown.
Police said the victim may have been the person who called 911. There was no information on suspects at this time.
With this murder, Nashville has now surpassed last year's murder count, with 42 deaths so far this year.
