NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A suspect is in custody after a shooting in East Nashville claimed the life of a 19-year-old.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, 40-year-old Theymous Hicks was booked into jail shortly before 2 a.m. Friday. He's charged with criminal homicide in the shooting death of Rodney Bates, Jr., police say.

According to the Davidson County booking log, Hicks is also charged with violating the sex offender registry, probation violation and tampering with a monitoring device.
