A 19-year-old man was killed when a gun discharged in Montgomery County.
The incident happened around 5:43 p.m. Monday on Stateline Road in Clarksville.
Police said they responded to a shooting call and found the victim being administered first aid. He had been shot in the torso.
The victim, identified on Wednesday as 19-year-old Hakeem Canty, was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.
Police said the initial investigation indicated a 24-year-old man was attempting to clear a Glock handgun and discharged the firearm, striking the victim.
The investigation remained ongoing.
