Detectives said they’re seeking the whereabouts of a 19-year-old for questioning in a shooting.
Authorities said 19-year-old Michiline McClain has been wanted for questioning in connection to a shooting on September 5 in the parking lot of Boyd Hall on the campus of Tennessee State University.
The shooting left 19-year-old Larry Bates critically wounded.
According to an investigation, Bates reportedly got into McClain’s gold Chevrolet sedan in the parking lot of a convenience store near campus just minutes before the shooting took place.
Officials said the car was then driven onto campus and into the Boyd Hall parking lot.
According to a witness, Bates was standing outside the vehicle on the passenger side just before he was shot, and the car left moments later.
Police said their efforts to locate McClain and her car have been unsuccessful. She was last known to live on Lunn Court.
McClain told detectives over the telephone she would come meet with them, but she never showed up.
Anyone with information has been asked to call the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600.
