2 Arrested In Clarksville Double Homicide

Clarksville Police officers have arrested two people in connection to a double murder.

Gary Mathis Jr of Oak Grove, Kentucky and Domonic Combs Jr. of East St Louis, Illinois were arrested and charged with Criminal Homicide. 

Information from a CrimeStoppers tip and an anonymous call into the police department helped detectives identify the men.

Mathis and Combs were in custody in East St Louis, IL pending the extradition process.

the double shooting happened just before 7 p.m. Thursday near Fort Campbell Boulevard in Montgomery County.

Investigators said 23-year-old James Tyler Wood was dead when they arrived on scene. Cuong Ba Nguyen, age 41, was taken to Tennova Medical Center by EMS in critical condition where he later died.

Police have named two people of interest in the case. They were described as two black men, one having short dreadlocks and the other wearing a blue hat. They were believed to be driving a white Cadillac.

Details regarding exactly what happened during the shooting were unclear, but authorities added the incident did not appear to be random.
