LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WTVF) — La Vergne Police officers arrested two people after a long pursuit.

Police officials say an officer tried to stop 45-year-old Christopher McMahan on Taylor Drive around 10:45 Wednesday morning. But instead of stopping, he continued through Smyrna and into Murfreesboro.

He eventually stopped in front of his home on Cranon Road in rural Murfreesboro about an hour later.

McMahan and his passenger, 49-year-old Donna Shelton were then taken into custody.

Officers from Smyrna Police Department, Murfreesboro Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Officer aided in the chase.

McMahan was charged with felony evading, felony reckless endangerment, criminal simulation, drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license, misuse of registration and felony warrant service. He has previously been arrested 33 times and also had an active warrant for aggravated assault out of Rutherford County.

Shelton was charged with resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest or search.
