FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — A mother and her 12-year-old son were found dead inside a Franklin home Tuesday evening.
Franklin Police officials say a family member found 43-year-old Rachel Narancich and her son Asher Narancich shot to death and called 911. The home is located in the Hurstbourne Park neighborhood.
According to Chief Medical Examiner Feng Li said the shooting was a murder-suicide in which Narancich shot and killed the boy then herself.
Page Middle School Principal Dr. Eric Lifsey said “Asher had only been a student in our school for a short time, but he was a kind young man who was well liked by his teachers and his peers. Asher always had a smile on his face and was happy and upbeat. He loved being at school and being around his friends. We have additional counselors at school for students and staff to help them cope with this loss.”
Williamson County Schools Superintendent Jason Golden also released a statement, saying: “Our thoughts are with the Narancich family. I can’t imagine the pain they are experiencing. On behalf of Williamson County Schools, we send our condolences to them during this difficult time.”
In a press conference Tuesday night, Franklin Police POI Charles Warner said, "This case brings unimaginable hurt and pain to the family; so we're inside working through some of that with them while our detectives are also inside working through the investigation."
