FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Two businesses in Franklin have been cited for serving alcohol to minors.

Officials with the Franklin Police Department said an employee at TGI Fridays, located on Cool Springs Boulevard was cited Friday night. They said Mickey Roos located on Hillsboro Road was also cited.

A total of 14 businesses were checked Friday night by Franklin Vice Officers.

Police said servers at TGI Fridays and Mickey Roos were charged with a Class-A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine and time in jail. Owners of the two businesses also face civil penalties, including fines and potential loss of permits.

"Franklin businesses that sell and serve alcohol are licensed and regulated by city and state government," Franklin Police Chief David Rahinsky said in a release Saturday. "Our obligation to ensure that they're acting responsibly is one that we take very seriously."
