CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two people were sent to an area hospital after a two-car crash in Clarksville.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the intersection of Ashland City Road and East Old Ashland City Road.

Clarksville police said a 25-year-old woman was approaching a stop sign in her GMC Envoy, when her brakes failed.

The vehicle traveled through the stop sign and collided with the rear quarter panel of a Silverado. The crash forced the truck to spin out and rotate onto its roof.

A 39-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman in the Silverado were taken by ambulance to Tennova Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Envoy was not hurt. She was cited for improper equipment.
