2 Hurt In Incident Behind Smyrna Nissan Plant

Two workers were injured and taken to area hospitals after an incident near the Nissan plant in Smyrna.

Nissan officials said the incident happened behind the plant and involved a demolition contractor. However, additional details were not available.

Both were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. One was taken to TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, while the other was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Nissan released the following statement:  

“We are aware of the incident earlier today behind the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant involving an equipment demolition contractor.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals, their families and the medical personnel caring for them. We are waiting to learn additional information as authorities investigate this incident.”
