2nd Suspect Charged In 1998 Dickson Co. Murder

A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a 17-year-old homicide case out of Dickson County.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents arrested 57-year-old Wallace Brasel as a person responsible for the death of 32-year-old Eric Baxter in August of 1998.

Baxter’s body was found with multiple gunshot wounds in his home on Jones Creek Road.

Brasel was Baxter’s business acquaintance at the time. He was charged Tuesday with one count of First Degree Murder and two counts of Felony Murder.

He was arrested without incident and booked into the Dickson County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.

The first person charged in the case was Brasel’s brother, Tommy Wortham, in Oct. 2015.
