3 Charged After Fake Social Media Threat At Gallatin HS

Posted

Three students have been arrested and charged after a fake threat against Gallatin High School was posted on social media.

Officials with Sumner County Schools said the school’s principal was notified of a possible threat late Monday afternoon.

A group of students were pictured on social media holding an airsoft rifle, joking that the threat was real.

After a joint investigation between police and the school, the rumor turned out to be false.

Three students were arrested and charged in the incident.

School officials said this is a good reminder for parents to have a conversation with their children about social media.

Parents were also notified of the issue and extra police was present on campus, Tuesday.
