PORTLAND, Tenn. (WTVF) — Three people were killed in a car crash on Highway 109 in Portland according to Tennessee Highway Patrol.

THP tells us the accident involved at least three vehicles.

According to a preliminary report, a Ford Expedition SUV being driven by 21-year-old Giovani Zagal entered a right curve on the roadway and veered off the left shoulder of the road.

The Ford then traveled down the median and the driver lost control before re-entering the highway and rolled multiple times.

Two passengers from that SUV were ejected while Zagal was seat belted in. Police say that Zagal was dead when they arrived on the scene.

Among the two passengers, one of them was a 17-year-old juvenile while the other was 20-years-old whose family has not yet been notified.

One of the passengers was life-flighted to the Portland Emergency Room and died while the other passenger died after they were struck by what appeared to be three vehicles.

Of those three vehicles, two of them are accounted for. Police are still searching for the second vehicle that left the scene.

THP tells us the crash is still under investigation.
