The search for three gunmen got underway overnight after a man was robbed and shot in East Nashville.
Officers with Metro Nashville Police responded to a shots fired call on Bronte Avenue shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim told police he was walking home from Litton's Corner Market when he was approached by three suspects wearing dark hoodies, who demanded his belongings.
He tried to flee and was shot in the torso. The suspects got away with a few cigars.
The victim was driven to Midtown St. Thomas Hospital, but was later taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police said they’re now searching for the three suspects.
