Police arrested four people in a drug bust of heroin headed for Nashville from Southern California.
DEA agents found that 22-year-old Brianda Zuniga-Ramirez and 24-year-old Evelyn Vasquez both of San Diego, were being paid to drive the heroin from Southern California to Nashville.
Once here, they met with 43-year-old Julio Garcia of San Diego, and convicted Nashville cocaine felon 45-year-old Jeff Nelson of Madison (who received a 12-year sentence in May 2013).
As the meeting took place, law enforcement moved in and arrested all four. In addition to the heroin, $2,000 cash was seized.
The four defendants are charged with engaging in a heroin distribution conspiracy. Garcia’s bond was set at $250,000. Nelson’s bond was set at $76,000. Bond for the two women was set at $50,000 each.
