MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Prosecutors say four men have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in the drive-by shooting of a 7-year-old girl in Memphis.
The Shelby County district attorney's office says Carlos Stokes and Jordan Clayton, both 22, and Carl Johnson and Branden Brookins, both 19, were indicted Tuesday.
Investigators say Kirsten Williams was deliberately targeted by the men when she was fatally shot while playing in the yard of a home April 10. According to court records, Stokes lived in the same home as 15-year-old Cateria Stokes, who died in a drive-by shooting hours before Williams was slain.
All four men are being held without bond. Online court records don't show if they have lawyers who could comment on their cases, which are being handled by prosecutors who deal with gang-related crimes.
