GALLATIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — A toddler in Sumner County was taken to an area hospital after being struck by a car.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday on Merrick Lane, just outside of Gallatin.
According to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, the family had a sleepover Tuesday night and there were several children present, ranging in age from 7-11-years-old.
The kids were playing outside in front of the house this morning when two cars were coming down the road. One of the toddlers ran across the street, saw the first car but did not see the second.
Investigators said the child was struck at a "slow impact" and suffered a head injury. The extent of the injury was unknown.
Officials said it appears the driver was not impaired.
