WAYNE CO., Tenn. (WTVF) — A child was life-flighted to the hospital today after falling through a frozen pond.
Wayne County Sheriff Shane Fisher said a 7-year-old and 4-year-old fell through an ice-covered pond.
The older child was able to get out. However, the 4-year-old was underwater for about 5 minutes, before rescued by family members.
The father performed CPR until first responders arrived and stabilized the child, who was taken to Vanderbilt by helicopter.
