HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - A little girl was taken to the hospital after being bit by a dog.
The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. Saturday on Callis Road in Hendersonville.
Police said the family was dog-sitting an 18-month-old Great Dane for a friend, which they've done in the past.
The family's 4-year-old apparently approached the dog while it was sleeping, and according to police, the dog snapped her in the face on her cheek.
The girl was expected to be okay, but the dog has been taken into police care while they check its shot records.
Officials said the dog’s owner was expected to return Sunday.
