A citizen’s tip led to the arrest of five people and the seizure of one kilo of cocaine and $1,337 cash in Nashville.
Undercover detectives served a search warrant at a home on the 3300 block of West Hamilton Avenue Thursday.
One kilo of cocaine was located in a pickup truck parked behind the house. Detectives also recovered 14 grams of marijuana, 5.3 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and packaging material from inside the house.
Detectives arrested Convicted cocaine felons, 50-year-old Thomas Crowder Jr., 40-year-old Corey Higgins, who were charged with engaging in a drug conspiracy.
Also arrested were convicted cocaine felon 45-year-old Donald T. Hockett, 41-year-old David T. Woods II, of Hillmore Drive, and 22-year-old Michael Shepherd, of Pegram, Tennessee.
They were each charged with felony cocaine possession, drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Crowder, of Boyd Drive, was held in lieu of $303,500 bond. Higgins, of Robertson Street, was held in lieu of $403,500 bond.
Woods, who had a previous conviction for aggravated assault, Hockett, of Toney Road, and Shepherd, who has previous convictions for drug possession and domestic assault, were held in lieu of $28,500 bond each.
West Precinct undercover detectives assisted in the investigation.
