5 Displaced In Murfreesboro House Fire

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Five people were displaced following a house fire in Murfreesboro.

Officials said the fire happened around 12:15 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 200 block of First Avenue.

Reports stated the fire appeared to have started in the living room, but the cause remained under investigation.

Firefighters confirmed the home, which had been divided into two apartments, had heavy fire, smoke, and water damage.

The American Red Cross was assisting the five people who were displaced.

The Fire Marshal was called to the scene to investigate.
