Across from Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville, 5th & Broadway is undergoing a massive facelift.

"We began excavation about a year ago," said Burgin Dossett, Regional Manager at OliverMcmillan.

Fifth + Broadway is one of the largest single mixed-use developments in the history of Music City, with 230,000 square-feet of space.

"This is absolutely a game-changer for the City of Nashville," he said.

Dossett says the project will include an H&M store, food hall, roof top venue and craft brewery. It will also house the National Museum for African American Music.

With more than 200 men working on the site six days a week, Dossett says they expect to be finished by 2020.

He says mixed-use space is the future and represents "smart growth," to combine retail and residential and office space.

"More than theoretically you could work here, live here and shop here," he said.
