A total of six car burglaries were reported on the same morning from two Franklin fitness centers.
Officials with the Franklin Police Department said the thefts happened at the Aspen Grove Drive Orange Theory Fitness and the Shingle Way Prairie Life Fitness.
Each victim reported parking their cars between 6:15 a.m. and 7 a.m., and returned to find valuables missing after their workout.
In five of the six cases, officers said the victims left valuables in plain view, which allowed the thieves to break out the windows to get to the valuables they could see laying inside.
In one case, the thieves entered an unlocked car and pushed the trunk release, stealing the victim’s briefcase and valuables from his trunk.
Items like backpacks, purses, briefcases, and their contents were stolen. All of the thefts totaled more than $5,000.
