MILLERSVILLE, Tenn. – Alcohol was not a factor in a fatal accident in Millersville, in which a seven-year-old girl was backed over by a vehicle in a driveway.
Officials said it happened Saturday evening in the 1200 block of McMurtry Road.
The child, identified by family members as Tori Hicks, was playing outside when a driver, identified as
Kenneth Davenport, backed out of a shared driveway at the location. Police said the child was in that area and was hit.
Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although police said Davenport had consumed alcohol several hours prior to the incident, toxicology results revealed there were no signs of alcohol use. No criminal charges will be filed.
