11 Injured In Bus Fire On Hwy 49 Robertson Co.

Multiple people were injured in a bus fire in Robertson County.

According to Robertson County EMA officials, 11 people were injured when a bus caught fire in Springfield Wednesday night. 

Officials said it's unclear what caused the fire, but the victims were caught in the flames, while trying to evacuate the vehicle. Two victims were rushed to the hospital.

Victims said the bus was transporting Macy's employees to Clarksville when it caught fire. Several employees jumped out while the bus rolled down a small grade and into a ditch.

Nine people were taken to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, while two others were transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. None of their injuries were life-threatening. 

It happened at Highway 49 and Wilks Road around 7:30 p.m. The incident closed the eastbound lanes of the highway.
