NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The State Fair has been in full swing, and what better way to celebrate than with a good, old fashioned eating contest.
The ice cream eating contest has been a tradition at the State Fair.
Young kids tried to beat the clock and each other to see how much ice cream they can eat.
The winner was 9-year-old Kayla Owens, and she was excited about her prize.
"Today I won a Chick-fil-A gift card,” Owens said. “Most of the time when we go to Chick-fil-A we get stuff for $10, so that will really help my mom and I'm so happy. I've never been on TV, so woo!"
The State fair has been set to run until Sunday, September 20.
