NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A reunion for one man and the people who saved his life.

At around noon on November 28th, Kroger employee Charles Fisher collapsed from a heart attack. Kroger pharmacist, Shaneika Walker, jumped into action giving Fisher CPR. She continued to do so for about 7 minutes until paramedics arrived at the Franklin Road grocery store. Two customers jumped in to assist Shaneika as well. One of them was a retired nurse.

"I'm thankful it happened at the time it did and got the help I did," said Charles Fisher.

It was the first time Shaneika ever had to perform CPR. Shaneika, who is also the pharmacy manager, was certified in CPR, as it is a requirement for dispensing vaccines. She says she surprisingly felt calm when helping Charles.

"In my head, I kept telling myself to just do the chest compression and it'll be fine," said Shaneika Walker.

When paramedics arrived, they used a defibrillator on Charles before rushing him to Vanderbilt medical center.

The medical director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt, Doctor Daniel Munoz, says things could've ended a lot differently if it weren't for Shaneika and the two bystanders.

Charles spent 10 days in the hospital before being released. He says he is feeling better and is ready to return to work in two weeks.

On Wednesday, January 9th, Charles reunited at Kroger with the team that saved him.
