A suspect was taken into custody after allegedly robbing a bank in Nashville.
The incident happened after 2:30 p.m. Monday at the SunTrust Bank on Dickerson Pike.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 24-year-old David D. Williams, of Clarksville, is accused of demanding money from a teller, reaching across the counter and struggling with the teller over cash.
He fled the bank on foot, but was taken into custody by Officer Randy Heinze, who realized he matched the description of the robber even though he was wearing different clothing.
Sergeant Ryan Finnegan located discarded clothing behind a convenience market near the bank.
Police said Williams is expected to be charged federally on Tuesday.
