CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – An alleged serial robber has been taken into custody following a dramatic police chase in Montgomery County.

Officials with Clarksville police said 23-year-old Donzell M. Globe is accused of robbing at least three gas stations in one night along Interstate 24.

The incidents occurred in the early morning hours Wednesday at two Exxon gas stations. The first happened shortly after midnight near Interstate 24.

From there, he went to a gas station in Hopkinsville and allegedly robbed that one. A little more than an hour later, another robbery was reported at a gas station a few exits down near Highway 76.

Nearby officers saw Globe leave the station, at which point a chase ensued.

According to The Kentucky New Era, officers had to fire several shots at Globe’s car and use spike strips to stop the vehicle. He was taken into custody.

Police said Globe could be connected to the other robberies that have recently occurred along I-24. In one case, a suspect was seen on surveillance video robbing the store with several customers inside.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on two counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, evading arrest and driving on a revoked license.

Globe was held on a $701,000 bond.
