Amazon Sued Over Faulty Hoverboard

A Nashville family whose home burned down because of a faulty hoverboard has filed a lawsuit against the company that sold it to them.

In January, a fire started at the Fox family home in Nashville, caused by a hoverboard that was purchased as a holiday present that year.

This week an attorney for the Fox family announced it was suing Amazon for $30 million plus other damages, saying the online retailer should have known that fire officials had already issued warnings about how dangerous some hoverboards were, and that the hoverboard they sold was a counterfeit, calling the listed seller of the hoverboard a sham company run of a New York City apartment.

As for Amazon, the company says it doesn't comment on pending litigation.
