Antioch Shooting Victim Dies From Injuries

Posted

A man shot in a shooting near Antioch last week has died from his injuries.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 21-year-old Corvell Conley died Tuesday night from complications after surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Detectives said Conley was driving a black Honda Civic when he made a U-turn in the intersection of Rural Hill Road and Bridgecrest Drive at approximately 2:40 p.m. last Thursday.

The car then stopped momentarily before going over a curb into a wood line.  When the Honda came to rest, a gunman got out of the passenger side of the car and ran west on Rural Hill Road.

Conley then fell out of the car and crawled across the intersection where he was helped by passersby.

He suffered wounds to his jaw and neck and was expected to recover.  A plastic bag of marijuana was recovered from the car.

Detectives said they spoke to Conley before the surgery and have since pursued strong leads in the gunman’s identity.
