A man has been charged after an alleged argument led to a fatal shooting in Springfield.
According to Springfield Police officials, Stephen Brown of Greenbrier was found dead in an upstairs breezeway of the 2000 building of Legacy Village Apartments.
Police believe Brown was shot multiple times during some sort of argument or altercation at one of the apartments.
Detectives took a suspect into custody and interviewed multiple parties involved.
A handgun was recovered from the scene. Springfield Detectives charged Spencer Phillips of Gallatin with first degree murder in Brown's death.
He was held without bond.
The suspect and victim did know each other, leading police to believe there was no danger to the public.
