‘Armed and dangerous’ man captured in Humphreys County

WAVERLY, Tenn. (WTVF) — Authorities in Humphreys County urged the public to be aware of a man who’s wanted on multiple felony warrants on Monday morning. Now they say he has been captured.

Humphreys County Sheriff’s officials said 37-year-old John Benchoff, also known as John Butler, was last seen Monday in the 6700 block of Highway13 South.

It’s not clear why he’s wanted but investigators said he evaded police. He’s considered armed and dangerous.

He was wearing black shorts with a dark t-shirt. He’s 6 feet tall and weighs 150 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
